Botree Cycling was established in May 2019, with a focus on processes and equipment for extraction of rare metal resources and recycling of rare metal materials. Through the innovation of separation system, design of short closed-loop processes and manufacture of smart equipment, Botree Cycling provides industry sectors of new energy, new materials and resource recycling a complete set of solutions to realize efficient and clean utilization of critical metal resources including Ni, Co, Li, W, and V, to reduce the consumption of primary mineral resources, enhancing the secondary utilization value of materials.

Botree Cycling is composed by experienced experts from several leading institutions, namely the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IPE, CAS), the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIOC, CAS), the KU Leuven, Waseda University, Changsha Research Institute Of Mining And Metallurgy (CRIMM), Jiangxi Tungsten Holding Group (JXTC), etc. Based on long-term researches and rapid advancement of hydrometallurgy, organometallic compounds, supramoleculars and preparation of metal materials, Botree Cycling has completed the research and development of dismantling, screening equipment and new separation systems, realized the design of recycling process for spent power batteries and Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) denitrification catalysts waste and thousand-ton pilot verification.

Botree Cycling has successfully raised tens of millions of RMB during angel round after its foundation. In future application of power battery and catalyst, under the benefit of advanced technology solutions, international sales and service-support network, Botree Cycling will provide smart disposal equipment for units dealing with metal waste disposal around the world. Simultaneously, Botree Cycling offers consulting service and technical support for large-scale metal extraction projects. With the utilization of edging technology and smart equipment in extraction of metal resources, Botree Cycling enables recycle enterprises, electric vehicle enterprises, battery manufacturers and other entities with recycling responsibility to realize short-process closed-loop cycling of raw materials and promotes sustainable usage of metal resources in the whole metal value chain.

Ruobing Du, R&D Director
Ph.D, Chinese Academy of Sciences

Team member for more than 90% of the extraction and separation system in China. The P507 extractant developed by his team has been applied to more than 90% of the industrial production lines of rare earth, nickel, cobalt and other non-ferrous metals industries. Managed and participated in many national programs, and Led the team to complete the design, synthesis, performance evaluation, industrial application and production of multiple new extraction systems.

Xue Wang, Marketing Director
Ph.D, K.U Leuven

Team member of European urban mining research group in Belgium, with cutting edge knowledge on metallurgy, chemical technology and materials engineering. She has successively served as vice president of Beijing Ruidow Information and China business development of subsidiary of Noble Group, a Fortune 500 company. She has extensive communication and in-depth cooperation with many internationally renowned enterprises, main customers in the rare metal industrial chain, and international organizations and institutions.

Gangfeng Liu, Technical Director

Ph.D, Waseda University

Mainly engages in technical development and industrial application in spent Li-ion battery recycling, recovery of platinum group metals (PGMs) in catalyst, extraction of spodumene lithium, and comprehensive utilization of mineral residue. He has managed medium and large teams in two leading companies named Heraeus and Tianqi Lithium, responsible for the new technology development and production operations with a capital of more than 20 million RMB. He has won 4 provincial and municipal Talent Awards.

Zhihua Zhang, Engineering Director
Senior Engineer

Mainly responsible for equipment development and engineering implementation of new process of metallurgical chemical industry . As technical backbone, he participated in many national programs. He used to lead a medium and large technology industrialization engineering team, managed engineering projects with total investment of more than 2 billion RMB and projects of equipment development and application exceeding 100 million RMB.

Wufeng Zhou, Production Director
Master

More than ten years of experience in rare metal hydrometallurgical production management, 15 authorized relevant patents. He used to participate in the formulation of a number of National Standards for rare metal products. He managed and participated in many national and enterprise projects of technical transformation and upgrading of rare metal separation production lines and complete the demonstration project of smart factory.
